International transport terminology

Carrier: International carrier activity is taking immediate charge of cargo transportation from one country to another through a transportation mode and according to a transportation contract.

Forwarder: Forwarder activity is referred to as coordination and arrangement of cargo transportation through one of the land, air, sea or a combination of the three modes and acceptance of liability by virtue of the bill of lading and concluded contracts. A company which is active in this area is called a forwarder.
